The lights flash and hearts race
this stand still traffic, does not help
as the fire rages and the shedding of blood continues on
we sit still, we cant move
a path is made, and we break free
sound the alarm
help is on the way, and at the crime scene, victims lay still
the police are already there
you dont hear steady breathing where we go
only gasps, begging for pure air
lungs cant hold the blood you gave them
inside they drown, outside they smile
eyes of the victims roll back
catching a glimpse of the fire
the blaze is taking over, they all know what happened
its not the pills, not the bottles
they were all framed, every one of them
bystanders watch, in horror (O the horror)
night is falling, and so are the hopes
shocks and stares, are no help
get the stretchers, get the bags
familes will mourn, children will cry
they will ask, answers never come
tragedy has fallen, along with the sun
it got cold, so did our love
like the setting sun, we all rest
our hearts relax and our minds wonder.
